Is Fibroscan painful?Fibroscan is a painless and noninvasive bedside test.

Can anyone have a Fibroscan?Yes. Anyone over the age of 16 can have a Fibroscan with us. If you have questions regarding safety, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

How does Fibroscan work?The Fibroscan probes fire pulses of ultrasound into the liver. The ultrasound pulses then return to the probe for analysis.

How do I read my result?Fibroscan reports include median stiffness (degree of fibrosis) and CAP (degree of steatosis). The interpretation of the results depend on your type of liver disease. We recommend you consult your doctor for further information.

How long will the test take?The average Fibroscan takes between 5-15 minutes.

Do I need to fast?For best results, we recommend fasting (ie no solid or liquids) for 3 hours prior to the procedure.

What do I wear?Please wear a loose-fitting top/shirt. We do not recommend women wearing full-length dresses.
